Whitewater Rafting in Costa Rica

Similar to my whitewater rafting experience.

       Hey all, checking back in!  One of the best experiences I had while in Costa Rica had to have been whitewater rafting on the Pacuare River.  I have some pictures saved, but I can't find them at the moment... Oops! The pictures I added are merely stock photos I added for aesthetic value.

         The trip I went on had Level 4 rapids, although word to the wise, the day I went, it rained heavily.  That ratcheted up the intensity of the rapids.  In fact, the rapids were pretty extreme due to the rainfall and at one point, my boat got flipped and my entire group went overboard underwater!  

It looks like an ocean but it's the Pacuare River!

          That was a scary (but thrilling) experience.  However, the guides did a good job the entire trip and prepared us to deal with that scenario ahead of time if it happened.  While scary, everyone in our group survived and made it through the rest of the excursion.  

         It was truly a blast.  There's of course some risk involved, but it was a rush that I will not soon forget and the guides / visitors were so much fun to be with.  I encourage you to check it out if adventure-seeking is your thing!
